When a Polaroid photo of a missing girl shows up at a crime scene, Nikki quickly recognizes similarities to the past. The closer she gets to the abductor, the more she feels this case has become personal, and she is not the hunter . . . but the hunted.

With this explosive first book in The Nikki Boyd Files, award-winning author Lisa Harris takes you on a fast-paced pursuit of justice that will have you holding your breath until the heart-stopping finish.”

Vendetta by Lisa Harris is the first book in the new series, The Nikki Boyd Files. This book is action-packed and heartbreaking. There is some romance in this book Nikki, the female lead, strives to make sure that other families don’t suffer the way hers has. Ten years ago, Nikki’s sister went missing and she still hasn’t been found. Nikki now works for the Tennessee Missing Persons Task Force. The story opens with her honoring the day her best friend died. She gets a called that another girl is missing. At first, this appears to be like any other missing person’s case until a photo of the missing girl shows up. For Nikki, this may be the first real break in her sister’s case. The closer that she gets to the finding the girl and her abducter, Nikki starts to feel less like the hunter and more like the prey. I liked so many things about this book. She works with a great team and the police officer who worked her sister’s case.
The villain was such a surprise to me. I believe this is going to be an amazing series.
